I'm getting close to living in Texas as long as Louisiana.
My ties to LA are getting fewer and fewer as relatives pass away and friends move.
Each year I'm here, I feel less and less connected to LA.
I identify much more with the Hill Country vibe lifestyle than LA.
Don't miss much about NOLA at all. Lafayette is fun to visit friends but outside of that, I have no desire to ever spend time in LA.

It’s cool but the lack of greenery and food sucks. Food is bland, it doesn’t really have identity. Doesn’t know if it wants to be southern or Mexican.
Good luck finding decent Italian food.
