feel like the opposite is true. She gets great recruits and then squanders their talent. As a former pitcher, her pitchers have been mediocre. Their offense was a little improved last year, but overall they generally under perform at the plate. The decline of the softball program has been gradual, but consistent.
Thanks for the insight. She hasn’t won a single conference championship in what 12 or 13 seasons? And it’s been years since she took us to the WCWS. As you said, the decline has been consistent. There are many who say she isn’t going anywhere but I can’t understand that when we aren’t even competing for championships, conference or national. Seems unlike the model Woodward is trying to establish among coaches.

This is a fair criticism. I’m not going to cut anybody down but those in this thread and elsewhere defending Torina at all costs say: “Look at all those WCWS!” By the same logic, Les Miles defenders in 2015-2016 could say “But he won a NC in 2007!”
We’ve invested in facilities, recruiting, coaches’ salaries etc. to the level of at the least, a top ten program and likely a top five. We are getting a top 20-25 team that lately can’t get out of a regional.
“We’re too young!” Beth said about three years ago when the team had experience, but then the veteran team the next year couldn’t go anywhere. And objectively speaking, that was so pathetic sounding when Beth said after the regional last year:
“I’ll make sure they don’t put ULL in our regional again!”
Beth’s excuses have long since been wearing thin.
