I work for an inpatient rehab hospital full time. It’s stupid fricking stressful. I’ve been in medical for 22 years. Earned six figures by year 3. I work about 35-50 hours a week depending how busy it is, sometimes it’s deathly slow. On the busy weeks, which is prob 3 weeks out of the month, I have zero work/life balance. None, literally zero bc my manager is a nazi and is relentless on bringing in patients and referrals. Stay out of long term care if you’re interested in medical and go into Pharma or device instead. I hear that’s much easier and more enjoyable.

A “busy” 50 hour work week leaves you no opportunity for work / life balance? Seems a bit dramatic, but ok.

device instead

One of the device reps that services the surgical center my wife works at in Lake Charles lives in Mandeville. I don’t think he works weekends but I know he is on the road a lot. Making that drive a couple times a week would suck arse.
