If mentioning that I already have a planned family vacation takes me out of the running then that’s a blessing.
On the flipside, If I were the hiring manager, I would be a bit annoyed if you failed to disclose a planned trip until after you were hired.
I’ve weirdly had a planned trip fall in the first month of employment at my last 3 jobs. I always disclosed this during the interview process and I have never gotten any flack or pushback for it.
