Gabriel Reliford enters LSU as an early enrollee
He starts lifting weights.
Do you think it’s worthless to track his lifts?

Or over a period of time(let’s say 5 years), lsu analytics track the speed of each position group, and come up with a median speed for each position.
Lsu coaches show up to a camp, or host their own, with this technology. Or gather data from HS or colleges for potential transfers.
They might get 15min to look at a kid. They might not get to see a kid in person at all. But they can immediately compare & apply the data to see how these kids measure up.
The same reason a combine exists. It’s not to brag that someone runs 20mph. It’s used to cross check & compare against other players or position medians.

Of course, not. It’s also crucially important to track his speed, but out of nowhere, in the last 3-4 years, we’re hearing about MPH. What does that tell us that tracking his 40 and 100 times, which are much more relatable to the game, didn’t?
