If you enjoy baseball, the last two weeks of June line up for home games for Cubs, White Sox, Brewers, and Twins. This would let you spend a few days in Chicago, then Wisconsin, and then Minnesota. If you start in Michigan, you could probably add of your desired states in that itenary in some capacity.

I go up to Madison every September for the Ironman event. Absolutely love Madison that time of year with school just getting back in session and the early fall weather. I could certainly live in Wisconsin June-September.
