I mean I get what you’re saying but I’d still take that sumbitch back if he wanted.

Can't take a chance and waste playing time on him. The whole point of taking care of Louisiana guys is to garner more loyalty than pure NIL. Heard blows that up.

He's already shown he's all about NIL and will go to any rival school if it's good enough. Why wouldn't he do it again? No, focus on the guys you've got in the program that haven't shown the same attitude as Heard. Weston Davis will be just fine filling in as a backup until next year when he'll have a chance at LT. Heard didn't want to work for the LT position, he wanted it handed to him.

I'd be pissed if I was an OL and lost out on playing time to Heard after he was fully set on leaving purely for a bag. Sets a terrible precedent and if he left again you'd be a double pickle.

this right here.....its easy to not be in the coach's position and say "he's elite talent, of course you take him back and any others have to just suck it up if they can't beat him out". I'm all for competition and the best man winning, but I'm also not in favor of "giving" someone that opportunity who already threw it away and now wants back. you'll start having more guys leaving than the 1 you're accepting back.
