The unlimited express pass is $110 - $310 per park / per day / per person, genie Plus is $25 or less.

Staying at Loews Royal Pacific was the same cost as staying at Boardwalk - which you need to get the evening magic hours in your example.

Know what I got for free for staying at Royal Pacific? A free Unlimited Express Pass.

Never had to get on my phone my entire stay to do any of the hoop jumping you have to do at Disney to ride a ride 3 times.

All I had to do was scan my lanyard at every ride at the park with the exception of Hagrids.

Like I said earlier, until Genie+ is dead at Disney, Disney is dead to me. I have spent 10s of thousands at Disney too. Was the biggest Disney homer for 15 years.

I've stayed at all of the premier hotels at Universal and having the express pass included when we've already planned to stay premier is nice but there just isn't enough to use it on. Similar to Animal Kingdom in our minds.

Islands of Adventure we would use it on Hulk, Dr Doom, Velocicoaster and then Hogwarts Express to hop parks. At universal escape from gringots is really about it.

I mean, if you like 3d screen rides or you really want to do one of those rides over and over it's great but there just isn't enough that we really like to do in those two parks that make it worth the cost of the purchase OR a premier resort.

My main beef is having to go to your phone more often. We all look at enough screens at home; I don't need to look at one on vacation.

The extra cost was necessary because the demand (park attendance) keeps going higher. The place is absurdly packed year round now. The parks reach a point where the infrastructure and labor can't keep up with the crowds.
They could have (maybe should have) just doubled the cost of park tickets and kept the system more basic.
