Yeah, but they were pushing Supergirl with no nefarious intent.

Modern woke Hollywood azzholes are hateful little pieces of zhit with an anti-white, anti-male agenda.

Sorry you either can't see that or simply won't admit it.

I mean, you don't know anything about this story yet, you have no idea what the intent is James Gunn isn't a woke director anyway.

You have never seen the actress in anything, looked up one picture and determined she is not interesting based off that one photo.

I have no desire to see this, I've been burnt out on superhero movies for a long time, but It's pretty clear you can't have a normal discussion on this.

look, i understand and can appreciate your perspective and willingness to give everything a fair shot based on its merits as a stand alone piece of entertainment. that said, i dont see how anyone can ever be surprised when there is a cynical response to movies like this continuing to come out. there has been a steady stream of shitty girl boss movies coming out oh Hollywood for nearly a decade, and that is nearly indisputable. you can argue that they're shitty movies that just happen to have girl bosses or they're shitty movies BECAUSE they have girl bosses or some mix of the two, but the fact is, they are shitty, and they are legion.

then what appears, on the surface, to be yet another girl boss movie gets reported on coming out, and the usuals on this board are, in my opinion, understandably cynical about the quality and intent of the film. then like clockwork, the REST of the usuals on this board act completely shocked and offended that anyone would ever question the pure motives of the wonderful people in Hollywood just trying to make great movies.

so yeah, it is impossible to have a normal discussion on these kinds of movies. but that is not due to the "incel neckbeards". it's due to the ideologues in Hollywood who have dragged us into this reality.

downvote away.

I understand this sentiment. However, I have a strong desire to see a Superman film that is compelling, emotional, and lends to newer Superman films with the same actor. I want this to be so good. The footprint is there. There are tons of material that people love available. Its hard to frick this up but they do it time and time again. Superman and Batman are two of the most popular superheroes and it should be easy to start a universe around them. Supergirl can have a part in that universe but, damnit, it has to start with Superman, alone.
