Yes, speaking for myself.

I'm 100% in favor of vigilante justice. If I'm ever on a jury I'd vote 'not guilty' for anyone who took out a mugger, shoplifter or dope-peddler, regardless of how much immediate danger any of them posed. If I'm ever a witness to a such a vigilante action, I'd keep my mouth shut over what I saw, if I felt it might put the hero shooter in legal jeopardy.
