To be honest, I still have a lot of questions myself. To simplify, she said, “I’m just not happy anymore.”
So I'm curious. Were there gradual signs that led to this culmination of "just not happy?" Were you guys not outwardly affectionate toward each other? Lackluster sex life? Lack of interest in each other's dealings in general? It just seems unlikely that it hit a wall out of nowhere, but I don't know.

In hindsight, there were, I just missed them. Like many women, my ex ran mostly on emotions and expected me to understand without her ever really talking to me about it. Fair or not, that’s how it is. I know it’s cliche, but we slowly grew apart. When you’re in a relationship for that long, you tend to take things for granted, and very subtle changes can go unnoticed. We’re probably equally at fault. She just saw it coming much more clearly than I did.
