My concern is not the moving of large stones to build any structure. My concern is just how ancient people were able to cut theses stones. Bronze age tools just don't cut it and I can't see using chicken bones will help.
Egypt has 80 pyramids. They are the easiest ornate stone structure to build. Prior to the pyramid Egyptians who had any wealth used mastabas to bury their dead. Stone kept wild animals from digging up and carrying off the dead bodies.
The Great Pyramid was built at a time when the pharaoh had the most political power and wealth. After it, Egypt never quite had that wealth and power to duplicate it again. The pharaoh used master craftsmen to build those things, not common slaves. Sure some slaves were used as step, fetch, and muscle. The master craftsmen are buried near the Great Pyramid.
