Google and Microsoft are already integrating AI results with the standard search results and are putting them at the top of the page in many instances. So it's already happening even if you go to Google to "search the web".

Samsung just released an integration with Google AI on their latest phone, circle anything on the screen leads to a visual Google search. Also, iOS18, which should come out in the fall, is expected to have AI finally built into Siri.

If AI Siri actually works that will cause a big shift to AI for the types of searches you mentioned. You don't have to install or pay anything extra and get an AI chatbot out of the box.

We are still several years away from this being close to a finished product, but AI will continue to become more and more useful and encroach on more domains every day.

Did I mention I threw all my Alexas in the trash and set up my new house doorbell and cameras on a local networked storage Device?

shite gets scarier every day. And yes I'm well aware my phones are listening to me anyway.
