I was looking at a directory of a local school district and was amazed at how many head of x, y, and z departments or programs they had for each federal program or state grant.


Some were former teachers that could be in the classroom but were enticed to a new central office position since they got a grant for it and a pay raise.

The money to pay these positions often comes out of the grant money. so it's still a net positive to the district.

Can't blame the districts here. Now if you would say, the feds / states should not be giving these grants, that is a different story.
