Delta's system knows which passengers have a connecting flight that is getting cut close and the attendants announce it and make everyone sit down and let those passengers deboard first. That's helpful.
And because I exclusively flew Delta in my business travel days, and being based in ATL, I rarely had connecting flights, it was always non-stop.

United has a "Connection Saver" feature where they'll hold an aircraft and take a slight delay when you're at risk of missing a connection. Already saved me once this year.
Moving from DFW to AUS really limited my non-stops, especially since I moved all my flying to Delta/United.
