Wut? It's definitely been a while since you've seen the original. This version has almost nothing in common with Swayze's, other than the general idea of a bouncer defending a bar from a developer.

I finished this last night and liked it okay. I get what people said now about the superhero fight scenes in the way they were shot. But all in all the fights were choreographed fairly well I thought. The damage taken didn’t equal actual injuries though, and that was sort of annoying. Aside from the beatings that JG took and kept on ticking, ole boy hits land on his boat and is thrown 100 feet and….just walks it off?
The plot was meh, but I wasn’t expecting much. And as DEI as the cast is, I was pleasantly surprised that the movie itself really wasn’t.
McGregor was annoying and they could’ve toned him WAY down. And Jake leaned a little too hard into “I’m too cool to be here/smirky” but I just rolled with it.
It’s definitely not a good movie necessarily. But it also isn’t a bad way to spend two hours either. All in all it was about what I expected I guess. My main issue with it is that it simply isn’t as fun as the original.
