the Los Angeles Times Guild staged a one-day walkout in multiple cities
Will anyone even notice a 1 day walkout?
Appears the plan is to layoff around 100 people, roughly 500 employees, and they think the best approach is to have ~300 people strike for 1 day and the paper still gets printed. Wouldn't this just potentially be a blueprint to show management they may be able to afford another 100 layoffs?
From article linked within the article:

Management has not publicly disclosed the number of newsroom positions that will be eliminated, but knowledgeable people said the plan is to lay off at least 100 journalists, or about 20% of the newsroom
