do think JD5 is going into the NFL better equipped than Lamar but he’s also going in a couple years older than Lamar did.
As much as I like and JD5 and appreciate him winning the Hesiman ... I don't see him being better than Lamar... no one's going to suggest he play WR and 31 teams not going to pass him up... drive to prove you frickin idiots wrong and chip on shoulder is what makes Lamar special... JD5 won't have this

Lamar was 30-7 in the NFL with an MVP trophy, and had been to the playoffs 3 times by age 23

I never once said that JD5 would come in and be better than Lamar in his first season.
I just said I believe he’s better equipped going into the NFL than Lamar. Thinking he’s going to come in his first year and be better than Lamar is just plain ignorant.

Lamar also had Greg Roman as his OC the year he won MVP in 2012.
The same OC that got Colin Kaepernick to the Super Bowl in 2012.
Greg’s offense was incredibly well suited for Lamar’s abilities.

Yes and no... Greg refuse to evolve the offense... stats will fool you... even though Lamar probably threw for more yards and touchdowns under the last regime... the passing game now is way more efficient... before it was basically let Lamar scramble around long enough for someone to break open...

Lamar is more athletic and shifty than Daniels. He’s also faster and a little bigger. Lamar had more rushing yards and rushing TDs in his 3 years of college than Daniels had in 5 years.
Daniels is very risk adverse and has less turnovers than Lamar did in college.
I think the better comp for Daniels is RGIII. Similar size and both similar completion percentages (67% and 66%) coming out of college.
Lamar is a freak athlete who doesn’t really have a current contemporary. Kind of like a Vick or Cam Newton. He’s very lucky to have been drafted by a team that built an offense around him and was patient with him. After his first year, I really didn’t think he would make it as an NFL QB. He was really bad, but he’s become really really good.
My only concern about Daniels is wondering if he will regress once he gets to the NFL. He was bad for 3 1/2 years, had a good end to the 2022 season, had a really bad game against FSU, then killed it the rest of the season. You can draw the comparison to Burrow, but Burrow elevated the rest of the team in a way that Daniels did not IMO.
When it comes down to it, nobody knows what QBs will work out and which ones won’t. Daniels has a chance, but is far from a sure thing.
I don’t want to trade up for a QB. We have other needs and need infusion of youth and talent. This draft will have some good players going well into the late part of the first round. If there was ever a year to trade down and get more picks, this is the year.
As for Bo Nix, I stand by my statement that nobody know if a QB will work out or not. But if I had to bet, I’d say Nix ends up as a journeyman QB.

Your point about the ravens building an offense for Lamar is a good one. I think the same and be said for almost every qb entering the league with the physical tools to make it. I don't think Bo is much different than hurts, and hurts has succeeded so far. If Bo is with a coach that uses his legs, i wouldn't count him out

The USC backup stepped right in with 6

He also has the best defense in the NFL that only allows 16 ppg

That is a lot for a team that needs everything. But if it looks like JD5 is falling to the Falcons, we MUST trade up to get him. He is the best player in the draft
Look, I love JD5…..I wasn’t sold on him last year (or after the FSU game for that matter). BUT the strides he made (especially IN THIS SEASON) are the most impressive I have ever seen. I would love to have JD5
But it would cost a shite TON of draft capital to trade up to get him, and this team needs a huge infusion of youth. To do that we need our picks, it’s the only way to start getting this roster younger.
We need help at LB, DE, DT, OL, TE, & possibly CB (depending on what happens with Latt and Issac). Can’t keep sacrificing picks to move up (which leads to spending more in FA) when you have an aging roster and cap issues!
Not drafting a TE last year (in a very deep TE class) was incredibly fricking stupid

You are a true football fan unlike most of the clowns that post on here. Keep up the good work. I am here for the entertainment faction but it is great to have a knowledgeable post sometimes
