Go to the south end of the lake. North end is stumps and trees
South end is so much more grass and deep water.
Wildwood resort in Zwolle is cheap with good cabins and a good boat launch. If you have a decent boat you can run south pretty easy

It takes me about 20 minutes it seems to run from a camp very near Wildwood to Tennessee Bay/Negreet Creek (Roughly 16 miles). I'd trailer South if I wanted to get down around J&L, the dam, or Indian Creek on the TX side. It has to be about 30 or more miles between Wildwood and the dam.
That said, I agree, the South end is where we always water skied and tubed.
