Is unleashing Harold Perkins ability. Perkins was such a devastating force his freshmen year and to see the lack of creativity from House was criminal. IMO, when Baker calling the defense and People’s working with edge rushers, Perkins will be who we thought he was. Plus Womack will probably blow up this fall. Cannot wait.

While House sucked Perkins stats were damn near the same in 2022 vs 2023. He had 2 more tackles in 2023 but 2 more sacks in 2022. So the destructive force you remember was pretty much the same guy.

He only really played half the season in 2022. Didn't get real PT until the Ole Miss game.

I had a Baseball Coach who would always say, “There’s a special place in Hell for a Coach that wastes a kid’s abilities.” Maybe that’s overkill, but I like the sentiment, lol.

I would not be shocked to see Baker line Perk up all over the defense and blitz him from different spots with a few running back coverages and spy assignments mixed in. That is how he should have been used this year.

Whit Weeks and Penn will hold down the inside linebacker spots. Curious to see Baker's plan with the defense. Last year we led the SEC in snaps with only 4 DBs due to trying to keep Perk at the Sam Linebacker spots. Curious to see how they get creative with the personnel.

Guess you missed the part were Perkins wasn’t a starter last year and didn’t get meaningful snaps til a few games into the season.
