Getting fitted doesn't really matter until you have a remotely repeatable swing
The exception to this would be if you have wildly incorrect clubs (way to short/long or senior flex shafts).
Now, if you have no intention of practicing and/or getting lessons, go ahead and buy new clubs. It'll help some, but not a ton.
