When discussions started about the new south upper deck, I was really hoping they would demo the lower south end zone as part of the process to match the lower north. Instead, they doubled down on ugly and did an atrocious job with the exterior of the new south upper.

Aesthetically, everything done to the stadium since it was a horse shoe has been one bad design after another.

100% agree. But even with some poor choices, I used to love the way the stadium looked from the outside. It was a point of pride. Now, after the last build out, I honestly think it looks embarrassing from the outside. Ultimately, the magic happens on the inside, but it’s still upsetting.

This is pretty much true, except I actually liked the aesthetics of the original two tiered south end zone from inside the stadium. Everything otherwise since then has been an utter abomination. In retrospect, that should have been the last alteration of the place. The 67,000 ‘old bowl’ configuration is about as perfect a setup to watch a sporting event as you will ever see. The slope and closeness of the seating is just pure perfection.
