Good move! The BS about CR lately is ridiculous. Guys could make plays on the ball when CRay was here. We will get NFL caliber players again.

I like this hire. I fully believe Coach Raymond will come back with a little chip on his shoulder. I hope the staff just all mashes well together. On paper this is great.

No BS, the guy is a subpar X and O’s football coach. Hopefully they hire a solid safeties coach or some analysts who can help.

Posted this on the coaching board thread. May be worthwhile here:
Again, Raymond was not as bad as some of you have made him out to be. The systems were mediocre and he was split up, be here is his history of Picks he fully coached or coached initially. This doesn't count guys from his first year or two that Ron Cooper coached.
2015: Jalen Collins (2nd round)
2016: Rashard Robinson (4th), Jalen Mills (7th round)
2017: Jamaal Adams (top 6), Tre White (1st)
2018: Donte Jackson (2nd)
2019: Greedy Williams (2nd)
2020: Kristian Fulton (2nd)
2022: Stingley (Top 3), Flott (3rd)
In his last few years, focused solely on CBs, and that doesn't necessarily help the DBs as unit sometimes, and much of the issues his last years were also in the safeties coached by Busch.
As for recruiting, I don't blame him as much in the latter years when it was clear O was destroying the program and players aren't stupid and we didn't lose them to bad programs. Most were to solid programs.
Finally, I don't think you can count his UF stint against him that much seeing as Napier is an awful fit there and the whole program has become a joke.
I think he will do great, and now he may have the expectation of DC position promotions out of his system.

So BK has now hired back 2 guys that he fired.... just saying.
Edit: they weren't retained when BK got here. The point is that he didn't want them then, but now he has hired them back & paid them more money. ??
The only assistant he kept was Davis, because his unit was doing the best in that time frame and he had to change the culture.
He wanted a hard reset, and left one guy to help bridge because he was the interim HC and did a great job.
Raymond was also looking to move up in position to co-DC and wasn't going to get that here. He didn't end up getting it and Napier paid him handsomely to be another strong recruiter with ties to DBs across the South. It didn't work out, but while the DBs struggled in his last two years at LSU, it wasn't all on him.

Hopefully these Karen fans will give him a chance.
