I think it depends on your child. I attended both public and private schools as a child. I taught for seemingly ever, both in public and private schools. I think there is the opportunity for your child to be challenged academically at both public and private. Does your child have a IEP or any type of special needs that cannot be addressed in the private realm? Does your child need transportation? What about sports teams? Required parent volunteer hours? At a private school, are you, as parents, comfortable with the doctrine/philosophy/teaching model adopted by the school? I suggest going to visit a school and get a feel for the dynamic...The fact that you've asked the question tells me that you will make the right choice. Blessings!
