He’s only 36 and if he has success at Alabama better jobs will come calling.

Exactly the opposite. He’s banking on Alabama being the Alabama of the past i.e. he gets an easy promotion to a P5 gig.

Only issue is whether he can coach well enough & recruit well enough to catch steam. Prediction: if hired his trajectory won’t be what he thinks it would be

You’ll start to see more of this because of the ever-widening gap between G5 and P2 TV revenue.

P2 coordinator positions will pay dramatically more than G5 head jobs, and the gap between P2 head salaries and G5 head salaries will be so large, it will put ADs off from hiring a head coach straight from the G5.
