Remember to put your cold weather fuel additive in south La tonight. My truck froze up in Stuttgart this am, even though I added it to fuel. It was 9 degrees. Fortunately I primed it and got it started.

I cranked mine at -5F in Colorado this year. It didnt like it, but it started and after about 5 minutes it was running normal. The newer trucks have heated filter housings, lines etc and will crank down REALLY cold with good batteries.
If you do add something, you should run the truck for a few minutes after to get it all in the lines and filters and stuff.

My fuel got treated last week by the company I buy it from. Still had some summer fuel in one of my tractors so added more treatment. Glad I did it was 3 degrees this morning when I started it to feed with. Used the battery charger on boost to help start it

I’ve never added anything to my 7.3 and it has lived in MT most of life. Engine block heater does the trick.

Yup, the ole wall plug does wonders. I still throw a couple ounces of hot shots winter fuel treatment when the temps dip into the mid-teens. Can’t hurt.

Yeah and electric heaters are power hogs plus if you go somewhere for a while you either have to leave it running or find a plug. So good point.

In south Louisiana I never even knew my truck has an engine block heater until now. Lol
