While the hire of DeBoer doesn't cause as many questions as when UCLA hired the coach from UAB (Bartow) to replace the retiring John Wooden, having to replace a coaching legend is pretty much a no-win situation.

DeBoer made the money grab move to a situation likely better than had he stayed at UW while transitioning to the BIG. UW will never pay the kind of money as a top SEC program (win, lose or draw). If the Huskies stumble in the BIG, he likely won't ever collectively earn what will be laid out for him at this time. Cost of living in Alabama is likely about one third of that in Seattle to boot.
