At least obscure to me.
Haysi Fantayzee only existed for a couple of years and had some songs that charted in the UK.
Shiny Shiny
John Wayne is Big Leggy
Anyone else familiar with them?

Will check them out.
I'll throw in The Motels. Same vein. New wave, a couple minor hits in the early 80s. Female lead singer. Kinda like Siouxie and The Banshees

Don't think I'd consider The Motels obscure (nor Siouxie-like). They had two Top 10 hits (one of which, "Only the Lonely," I would consider instantly recognizable now as an '80s defining song).
My contibution: Cabaret Voltaire

The 12 inch of that song was a dance club classic. So mesmerizing.
