Hampton Inn downtown is also a good hotel option where you can walk everywhere and not spend as much as the Grand. Rooms are fine but location is everything especially if you plan on eating and shopping downtown

Also Daphne Hampton Inn has the same view as the Grand for $130/night, ten minutes away. Both are good choices.

I would agree with all of this. If it's a couples weekend with just you and your wife, this would be perfect. There's several good bars and some nice places to eat all within a few blocks of the Hampton Inn. And you could kill an afternoon dicking around downtown Fairhope to "shop" but it's nothing special IMO. If you're coming with young kids, you're probably off spending it at The Grand Hotel but prepare thy anus for summer prices, especially rooms with a Bay view
