Were you in the room for these meetings???
No. But Saban says he was TOLD the plans for the football facilities. He did not say that he demanded them. He was TOLD the plans when he was hired.

Mark Emmert had a plan for a Flagship University. He knew that a successful football program was the key to fundraising to create the Flagship University.

The Flagship football program plan included investing heavily into the football program: increase coaches salaries (8X) and hire an elite head coach, pour money into building up the football facilities. The football facilities were planned by Mark Emmert. He told those plans to Saban:
quote:

I WAS TOLD WHEN I CAME HERE there were three things we were gonna do: improve the living conditions for the players (which we have), build an academic support center (which we have), and the last thing we were gonna do is build a football facility for football. THAT'S WHAT THE COACH [Saban] WAS TOLD.
Nick Saban stating that we was TOLD the plans for the football program.

Football was just a portion of the massive LSU Flagship U. rebuild, but Emmert knew it was the engine if the project was to start rolling.
Alas, you'll be downvoted to oblivion by the Saban worshippers not even born then, even with the facts in front of them.
