The left has become radical.
Bill Clinton confided in Dick Morris during his first 4 years that it was becoming a struggle to keep the far left crazies under control in the Democratic Party.

Strange as when you consider that all he accomplished in his first term was to raise taxes more than they had ever been raised and ban a bunch of ugly guns.
Only when reined in by Gingrich did he even feign moderation on actual policy.
He did talk a good moderate game, though.
