-always throw down some salt/ice melt down before a big snow.
-Go out every couple hours if you can but dont bother if its windy & steadily coming. Itll just drift right back up 15min. later
-depending on the temp when it falls will determine weight of snow..nothing worse than 32 degree snow/winter mix as its heavy AF. Gimme under 30 all day long. Light and fluffy.
-get the # for a good plow guy for over 6in (TWSS)

Grew up in Louisiana also but there is a reason I live in Florida now everything Honkus just said I will never have to do in my lifetime. You peeps that live in very cold and snowy places can have them.
