Wife and I went there this fall and found a pretty affordable Airbnb in the Back Bay Area. Super walkable to anything you’d want to do. Great restaurants and bars as well.

Nothing is budget friendly in that city except a self guided Freedom Trail walk. That said, during non baseball season there is a pretty decent hotel near Fenway with a rock n roll theme that is reasonable.
