We have toyed with the uniforms too much lately. The traditional gold, white, gold should be worn most of the time, and the gold, purple, gold can be worn a couple of times vs rent a wins. But enough with trying to be like Orgeon. You don’t see Alabama getting stupid with their uniforms. Tradition matters.

LSU's not trying to be like Oregon. The only addition is occasional use of white helmets and white pants. They aren't my favorite. Largely because LSU's purple and gold is one of the more unique color combos in college football. However, the players appear to love the white uniforms. Go look at any recruiting art/photos. You will almost always see recruits wearing the white uniforms...to some degree. If for whatever reason that draws recruits in, then use it.

Eight games with gold/white/gold

We wore gold, white, gold against FSU, Grambling, State, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, and Missouri. That's 9 of our 13 games.
Last year, we wore gold/white/gold against FSU, Southern, State, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, UAB, A&M, UGA, and Purdue. That was 12 of our 14 games.
SO, over the last 2 seasons, we've worn our traditional uniforms in 21 of 27 games.

Michigan has. Ohio State has. Oklahoma has. Notre Dame has. There are very few programs as boring and conforming as Alabama and Penn St. The kids like wearing different stuff. That shouldn't bother people as much as it does.
