This is 100% the correct take.

He proved he lost the team.

They asked him if they could do it. He said no. Specifically do not do it. And then they went and did it anyway.

He’s a cuck. Apologizing in the media, he’s made this so much worse.

I love Jameis too, the guy has an IQ below room temperature. He’s apologizing in the lockeroom media session but realistically making it way worse. “I apologize to DA, but this was a TEAM DECISION” implying that DA isn’t a part of the team . He’s speaking like DA is the subordinate. “DA didn’t condone that at all, however we decided as a team to do it.” “We had the opportunity and we decided”. “My intention was to lead the team... and we made a collective decision and ima feel good about that” “it’s not about regrets... it’s about us as a team making a collective decision, but I do apologize to Dennis..because that was not his call” he doesn’t even call him coach, he calls him Dennis.

These are actual quotes

I’m a fan of the TD, frick the falcons, and I hate Dennis Allen.

But this completely cuts the coach down at the knees. He can’t come back.

There’s no respect

All I know for sure is that the ball would have been kneeled if Payton was still the HC. Either that or Winston and Williams would have been cut before the after game press conference. Payton was respected/feared by the players. He didn't frick around with players who were rogues. E.g. Mike Bell, Brandin Cooks, or CGJ.
