I want Thomas gone ASAP. I don't wanna lose Lattimore, but maybe it's for the best. Get some draft capital and hopefully some cap relief.

I thought it was the opposite - opened the door to move him. I am like 3rd grade level with nfl contracts/cap

It's not really easier to trade him, just easier for us to kick can. The net effect on us will be 0. We're not decreasing his dead cap (which is huge). This shouldn't impact the receiving team, as those teams almost always immediately convert big salaries to bonuses for players they receive (although the smart ones have the cap room to absorb the fully salary, which is YUGELY +EV).
