That’s why I’m not sure why people get so caught up in this stuff. Some guys develop and some don’t. Doesn’t really matter what star they are.

You're 100% wrong. 5 stars develop more often than 4 stars and 4 stars develop more often than 3 stars.

The disconnect occurs when people fail to understand how few 5 stars there and how many 3 stars there are.

There are literally thousands of 3 stars yearly vs only around 35 five stars. Which means even if only 10% of 3 stars pan out, that's still way more players than if 75% of 5 stars pan out. That's why the NFL is littered with 3 star guys. You can not have a league without tons of 3 star guys.

Also, people are more likely to notice when a 5 star doesn't pan out vs a 3 star, who in most, will not do a whole lot.

LSU's roster, as an example, has mostly 4 stars, with some 5 stars (usually under 10 guys) and the rest 3 stars.

The LSU roster composition guarantees you'll see more 4 stars progress AND fail than any other star rating. This is another reason LSU fans get hung up on the "stars don't matter" lie. You don't even notice the 3 star heavy teams LSU steamrolls annually. You only notice the handful of 3 stars that pop up at LSU.

People keep repeating the same wrong argument again and again on here trying to argue that stars are irrelevant. That's not remotely true.

We have plenty of data on this to know what happens.
