In my five months as director of athletics, I have come to appreciate just how much tradition means to LSU. It means the Tiger Band marching down Victory Hill. It means running through the goal posts on Saturday Night. It means spelling “Go” with an “eaux.”

I wrote back to tell him that tradition at LSU also meant no piped-in music at Tiger Stadium, just in case he forgot that.

Thanks for posting letter. Had seen snippets of it but not the whole thing unedited.

Another tradition which you should be keenly aware of which you may not have seen this year, is LSU having a defense.

Also agree w/ this. Lack of ticket support is probably a function of several things:

-Cyclical contraction of the economy
-Constant bad economic news played up by media
-Dissatisfaction w/ DC situation
-Over all dissatisfaction w/ coaching performance
-Dissatisfaction w/ putrid OOC schedule when other teams in our conference are able to schedule decent OOC games
-Lack of money in their pocket books
-Date is New Year's Eve and many have other plans
-Peach Bowl is obviously a let down after last year.

But IMHO the letter from Alleva is not a problem, simply an effort to encourage greater fan support. No problem w/ that.

However, addressing some of the issues above would also be effective.
