Didn't look like an exit row from the inside pics, but the outside pics look to be in the shape of a door. Weird situation.

And as far as I know, the hull of the new Max wasn't changed from the old, which is the reason for the other issues..the engines being too far forward bc they retro-fitted larger engines on the old 737s, but didn't change anything else (raise the height to fit).

I”m with you here and wanted to mention it. As far as I know the MAX is using the same hull as all the other 737’s which leads a person to believe it isn’t a design issue. It was definitely the exit row door that blew out though.
