Not hiring a DL coach when Lindsey fell ill, is mind boggling. This DL was not improving and it took giving up 59 to Ole Miss before he hired Jenkins. Why even have a DL coach on the payroll if you dont need 1?

I keep seeing this platitude espoused on this board and I have one question:

Who exactly was available in early August at the beginning of camp to accept the job of DL coach at LSU?

Since most coaches already were employed and involved with preparing their team for their current season, who realistically was available to be hired?

It was a bad situation and Kelly's response was to juggle his staff and move a 30+ year veteran coach into the open position.
