All Confirmed Regions & Locations in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth So Far

- The Gold Saucer: A world-famous amusement park that is powered by Mako, the source of life on the planet. It has been confirmed that players will encounter a myriad of mini-games at the Gold Saucer (more on this in a below section).
- Grasslands: A lush vibrant land, small outposts dotted around the landscape. The Grasslands appear to be a vast open world area where there is plenty for players to discover.
- Junon: The second largest Shinra outpost. Junon used to be a beacon of hope until the Shinra Cooperation took over the city.
- Under Junon: A once bustling port town that has fallen into decline and is now a desolate town full of displaced civilians.

They have teased costa del soul and we know the game end at the forgotten capital but thats the only areas we have seen yet in detail.

Confirmed playable characters

- All the main 4 from part 1
- Red 13, Zach, Cait Sith, Yuffie
- Sephiroth, who the director has described on a few occasions as a protagonist

Characters confirmed to be in the game in some way

- Andrea, Biggs, Buggenhagan, Cid, Dio, Dyne, Elena, Rude, Reno, Tsung, Rufus, Marlene, Vincent, Kyrie

Confirmed methods of travel

Much like the OG each Chocobo will have certain traits so far we know of two

- Mountain Chocobos with scales to climb mountains
- Sky Chocobos with the ability to glide across the landscape
- The Buggy I showed above

Shown mini games so far

Shown above are Choco racing, G-bike, and 3D Brawler. There will be a piano mini game that you must collect sheet music for varying in difficulty. Something called moogle mischief involving bringing moogle children back home

And the big one Queens Blood. The new gwent or triple triad. A strategic card game where the aim is to overpower the opponent by accumulating power by placing cards into lanes on the game board. Players can collect cards and build their deck, but it is uncertain if these cards are collectibles or not, so fans will have to find out when the game releases. It has been said there will be easy normal and hard modes for this in the options.

Battle system

Most of the mechanics like summons, materia, etc are coming over. However synergy attacks and team up attacks with play into an expansion of the "friendship system" in older games depending on how close you are with that character and certain side quest will take on the form of bond quest.

Open World

All the continents will be there and fully open but parts will be gated by progress

- Remnawave Towers: Activating these towers will open new opportunities within the region, such as Research Assignments. As well as unlocking new opportunities, these towers will also uncover areas within the map, like Far Cry’s radio towers.

- Combat Assignments: Like Chadley’s research assignments in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, these combat assignments have a similar premise and unlock new challenges in Chadley’s combat simulator.

- Excavation Sites: When the player's Chocobo is near buried treasure, the game will indicate with a “?” above the Chocobo’s head and the player must follow the directions their loyal bird gives them to find the treasure.

- Chocobo Stops: Repairing these stops turns them into a fast travel point, which is very handy in an open world game.

House keeping

- Difficulty- If you are someone like me who wanted hard mode from the start of part 1 this one introduces a dynamic option that adjust to how well you do just like Resident Evil games. Easy Normal and Tactical will still be there as well.

- DLC leaks- Carbuncle was a major help in part 1 and only came with preorder so I imagine the preorder only summon will be another small space very helpful support summon. Some people are floating around Nov Dec following on the shows of Yuffies intermission we will get one for Vincent as he seems the most plot crucial needing to be set up for part 3

Aerith and Tifa team up attack. You can useless tempest has been dropped as Aeriths triangle for ward shift

Sepiroths materia and stats im guessing from flashback

Aerith pets Red im guessing an animation after a synergy attacks

Also if you have save data from remake youll get Leviathan and if you have sava data from Yuffies DLC you will Get Ramuh.

I am not sure how they are working this but the characters wont just reset at level 1 either.

The following summons are confirmed:
Odin
Alexander
Kujata
Titan
Phoenix
Bahamut Arisen

So, I'll preface this by saying that I played and replayed Remake at least ten times through every chapter, and used chapter select options to play through my favorite chapters as a stand alone many times more, then did a handful of replays of the DLC so I did this to myself, but...

I've been deliberately trying not to watch gameplay videos as I want to dive straight into Rebirth just like I did Remake without spoilers. I have inadvertently seen some of the gameplay footage though and couldn't bring myself to look away. What I saw/heard was most definitely new areas, but with the same rehashed area-specific music from the first title. The music was actually really good in Remake but the last thing I really want to endure is running through a whole new area while the Remake music from the Underplate or the Sewers plays in the background.

Maybe it's just music they used for demo gameplay purposes and the actual release will have a new score. Not sure how that works. I really love the background score from the Sector 5 slums, but that just seems very personal to that specific area and the connection to the "Hollow" credits song and Aerith, so I hope they don't reuse it.

Just a minor thing, I know. I just really liked the score from Remake (except for the Underplate) and hope they bring us a new score along with the new release. Either way, my excitement level is 10/10 for this release, and it's almost torture seeing the countdown on my PS5 every day.
