Just sounds like she was just as frustrated as you were and she misplaced the aggravation (with the missing hardware).
Not saying it was right but that's what it sounds like. I don't blame you for just walking out. That right there should send a signal to her that she said something she shouldn't have (aka taking out her frustration on you as if you had something to do with the missing hardware) and she'll think about what she said.
If the situation was reversed and you snapped at her for something that was completely not her fault, she'd be like, "What the heck? I didn't cause that...."
So just don't say anything, at least for the time being. She should bring it up and apologize for snapping at you. She saw you leave and didn't say a word so that right there should be a clue that she messed up.
But I get what you're saying.
You did the smart thing and said nothing and walked away. Sometimes you say the most when you don't say a word.
