I would never fly through London to Italy unless it was the last resort. Try to find some directs from the USA if possible. Much better imo, that’s a good distance from London to Italy which means you won’t arrrive until noon or well after which means your first day is wasted and you’ll be exhausted.

The reason I wanted fly British Airways, is that it allows us to leave Wednesday night and get there Thursday afternoon. We can settle in, get a meal and get a good nights sleep so we can start fresh Friday morning. Any other flights would make us fly out Thursday morning or mid day and land Friday morning, making it a jet lagged exhausted day.
