Did he strike gold, or turn him into gold? Penix had flashes at Indiana under DeBoer for a bit, but took off at UW. So did Jake Haener at Fresno State. I'd expect Will Rogers to flourish in this system as well.

Penix is lights out and it’d certainly be reasonable to expect a drop-off next season but it’s not like DeBoer has been a middling coach who finally struck gold.

DeBoer has been getting things done wherever he’s been and I suspect he’ll continue to have Washington playing at an overall high level for as long as he’s in Seattle.
