I think he wil be an impact player, and PP is going to be a star, if coached properly of course.

me neither, nice to be db instead of qb...you can play poorly, actually go backwards from a year ago(when he got alot of pt and experience) and still get fan support,,,,,the qb positon .. whole diff story from some of these idiots.

that is a very good question. How good will chad jones be???? number one safety in the nation when he was recruited. I personaly think he was out of position, and should have been at safety with coleman from the get go. It's his natural position and what he is most comfortable with and used too. But i have to say i am some what disapointed.

Overvalued or shite coaching? That's the question, I just started this cause everyone is obsessed with Loston.

Perhaps he can be salvaged with decent coaching rather that the 2 dummies passing themselves off as defensive masterminds. I have to admit, though, even with coaching as bad as he has undoubtedly received, shouldn't he have at least gotten lucky once or twice and made a play??

He had a sweet diving hit in the Arky game but the motherfricker shook that shite, it was a big play. God I miss Steltz and Landry.

I say that our starting secondary next year will be Jones and Coleman at safeties and Peterson and Loston (Hopefully....) at corners...

Loston at corner?

Chad Jones will be better next year under another DC.

I would love to know the context of this sig quote.

Corners can become safeties, but safeties usually can't become corners.

add 30 lbs to Jones and he would be an All-American LB IMO. I also think he could be a great safety, but better at LB. Loston is pure safety...all the way.

Why would you give up on Chad Jones?

The guy is a GREAT football player.
We gotta remember,
A - The guy is only a Soph. He doesn't have all the experience in the world to begin with. Also, he did play but only in special scenarios his freshman year. He also missed a lot of training due to baseball.
B - The guy was playing OUT OF POSITION. He is a safety, not a nickel back. You can chalk that one to dumb and dumber.
C - The scheme we played really exposed the nickel back. Well...the coaches exposed a number of things and the players can't be blamed for that.

CJ could have a break out year if we bring in someone with a more aggressive scheme and we play him at either FS, SS, or a weak side lb (i hope we don't and let him play SS while Loston plays FS)

I know its beating a dead horse, but you could replace the initials CJ with JL and for the most part the same arguement can be made...

FWIW I agree with you... only thing thats not totally true is the baseball excuse... i dont believe that hurt him that much,, he hasnt missed time due to baseball in over a well over a year.

Chad Jones will be a great player again. I know from a very credible source that CJ had some off-field, personal family issues in the off-season. Nothing related to football, nothing illegal or causing personal trouble. But things that would clearly be on any person's mind during the period that just happened to be the season. Those things should be cleared up now and he should be in a better frame of mind for the Spring and next year, I hope.

I think he will be a star for us next year. We have a lot of talent on our defense and no one really showed their potential this year. I think there was too much confusion and bad scheme.

I think 245 realistically. He has the frame to EASILY support that weight and while he would lose a little speed, his athleticism and strength for that size would be deadly. I personally think he doesn't want to do that because of how it would affect baseball.
