There's some truth here, parents these days, generally, have only taught their children what to think. In a mostly homogeneous society that's enough. However, the past few decades have seen a large political shift. Obama ran on a pro traditional marriage platform during his second presidential run. Barely 8 years later, when Trump was running, we skipped right past gay marriage to transgender bullshite.

Conservative values are being challenged across the board. If you're just teaching your children what to believe instead of also what reasons justify said beliefs you're asking for your child to be indoctrinated.

All that said, STEM has been infected as well. It's not as bad as the humanities, sure, but it will be within the decade unless something changes.
