Why is this just assumed? They aren't in the same position. It's not pro sports. There are plenty of reasons to treat them differently, namely the fact that roster stability makes for a better overall culture around the sport. Coaches leaving isn't nearly as destabilizing as half the roster being able to leave overnight.

You can’t have it both ways. You pointed out that it’s not pro sports. In pro sports you can make those type of rules, in college you can’t.

What if half of the coaching staff and athletic department staff left overnight? You don’t think that would be destabilizing?
