false premise as there is no such thing as a "palestinian"

When was the last time "Palestine' was located in this area and was ruled independently by "Palestinians"?

I think we have to go back to at least pre-Rome, but I'm willing to hear how that's wrong.

Certainly it's been hundreds of years at the bare minimum.

Prior to the Roman Empire it was called Judea. The Romans named it Palestine but it was never independent. It was only in 1947 when the UN partitioned it into Israel Palestine that a Palestinian state became a possibility. However, the Palestinians rejected that deal. So they only have themselves to blame for their problems.

It’s Roman. Hadran changed the name of Israel to Palestine to, tell me if you have heard this before, wipe Israel from the face of the earth.

Which brings about one of the present time’s great ironies. The same people lambasting the US as a colonizer is actually backing the ruling of one of histories great conquerors, the Romans, in the naming of Israeli land “Palestine”. And is also for the reconquer of that land.

I'm not going to pretend to shed too many tears over the "poor, downtrodden Palestinians" but at some level you have to realize what a specious argument you're making here. There were people living there under Roman, Ottoman, Abbasid and Umayyad rule. Whether or not they were living there under self-rule is an incredibly flimsy strawman. Having said that, human history is a story of the conqueror and the conquered. Israel has every right to keep the land. Palestinians have every right to hold a grudge.
