If you had a camper van why did you ride the bus so much? I’m all about public transportation when it makes sense but the alps it really doesn’t, so much faster and easier to have your own vehicle for the most part.

We rode from the campground into some towns, as a lot of the towns don’t allow traffic in the downtown areas. ZTL’s is what they call them.
Most of the camping areas were walking distance so we would walk in. In Ortisei it was about 2 miles so we rode the bus. We stayed seventeen days throughout the country.
It was a great way to combine transportation, lodging and having the independence to go at whatever pace we wanted Not having to pack and unpack for the entire trip was also worth it.
