A mistake and a garbage call.

I agree with those of you who said that JV should not have been the rim protector with 0.4 seconds to go. Having said that, the foul on JV would have never been called on a desperation play in the old days of the NBA. Steve Kerr is correct when he says that defense is being officiated out of the game. Finally, Smart and number 22 for the Grizzlies could have both been called with ten fouls each; in particular, 22 was always putting two hands on whoever he was guarding. The NBA has become a joke.
